The Story Behind the Smile
In Wampala Zone, Buikwe District, Uganda, there are children who wake up every morning wanting nothing more than to go to school and learn. But for many of them, something as small as a bar of soap, a clean uniform, a pencil, or a packet of sanitary pads stands between them and a full day in the classroom.
When a girl misses school because she doesn't have sanitary pads, she loses more than a lesson she loses confidence. When a boy shows up hungry or without basic supplies, he learns to expect less from life. These are not small problems. They are the quiet reasons children fall behind, lose hope, and eventually drop out.
Silimulalu Initiative Uganda (SIU) believes every child deserves to learn with dignity. That's why we're launching The Smile Drive a community-powered campaign to deliver essential school and hygiene supplies directly to children who need them most.
